First it was the discovery of a nest built with wool and the paper strip and string from the top of a feed bag. Thrifty bird builders – we could learn so much from you.
Then it was the discovery of a double-yolk egg in the chicken coop. For those keeping chickens, a double-yolker is like spotting a rainbow. (shown above next to a regular size egg for dramatic effect)
Then I was visited by the softest fur on the Acres, who settled for a stolen embrace from me in lieu of the snacks she hoped to find in the nest.
The morning was rich.
