Nora + Dave envisioned a garden party theme for their mid June wedding at the gorgeous surrounds of the Aldo Leopold Nature Center in Monona, WI. This palette included soft, muted colors accentuated with a touch of contrast, generous greenery, succulents, and cascades of gestural blooms and foliage, adorned with trailing velvet ribbons. The bride wore fairy wings tinged with iridescent green and sprigs of fine creamy white feverfew in her hair as she walked down the aisle; her luscious bouquet was befitting a fairy queen. Peonies, ranunculus, stock, and succulents set the the soft, romantic tone, echoed with dusty miller, eucalyptus, and graceful arching penstemon. Flowers were integral to the wedding experience – a garland of peonies, penstemon, and basswood foliage + buds adorned their simple arch for both the ceremony and later as a photo backdrop; a DIY flower crown + boutonniere bar allowed the guests to adorn themselves. Sprigs of greenery circled fairy garden lanterns on the dining tables. The air was redolent with the soft fragrance of peonies + stock.
